Julie was a mentor/master craftsman with the Jerry B. Jenkins Christian Writers Guild from 2002 through the Guild's dissolution in 2014. She graduated her final students from the Guild’s programs in Spring 2015. During those years she mentored more than 100 professional writers through their Guild studies. Her students raved about the value of Julie's assistance as they reached their writing goals of garnering publishing contracts and seeing their articles and books reach publication. Julie was lead writer for the Guild’s Writing Essentials and Apprentice curriculum in 2010.
Julie also maintains a list of private writing students who work with her on a project-by-project basis. She works with late-teen through senior-adult writers along the spectrum from intro to professional writing through article writing, advanced nonfiction, and book publishing. Julie holds slots in her schedule to offer these one-on-one services to professional writing students. Several of her former Guild students have returned as private clients, and have succeeded in achieving their publishing goals with her coaching.
In addition to this work, Julie has been a faculty member at Christian writers conferences across the U.S.—presenting on topics as varied as book proposals, publicity, article writing, interviewing, and record-keeping for writers.
